Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy

Last updated 13 October 2026

Mipkin is operated by Eros Media LLC (“we”, “us” and “our”), 1000 Brickell Ave., Suite 715, Miami, Florida 33131, United States. This policy covers “consumer health data” as Washington’s My Health My Data Act (RCW 19.373) defines it, and the similar laws of Nevada and Connecticut. It sits beside our main privacy policy, which covers everything else.

The short version. We only receive what might be consumer health data when you choose to use Talking freely or reflections. We use it only to give you that reply and to keep you safe while we do. We share it only with the services that do that work for us, we never sell it, and you can withdraw your consent and delete it whenever you like.

What we collect

What you write to your Mipkin, or on a journal page you keep while reflections are on, may say something about how you are, in body or mind. We treat all of it as consumer health data:

  • Talking freely messages, as they pass through our service. Each message you send, the recent lines of the same conversation, and a few fixed choices that go with them: up to six support areas you picked during onboarding (such as “rest”) and, only if you turn on a separate switch, short fixed labels for things you told her in her everyday conversations (such as “tea” or “busy week”). While Talking freely is on, telling her about something coming up, or how it went, may also send a fixed word for how soon it is or for the answer you picked (never what you typed about it), so the AI can write her answer. Our service holds all of this only for as long as it takes to check it and get a reply, and is designed not to store or log it.
  • Notes you keep for her, if you turn them on. Where we offer it, up to six short notes you write yourself for your Mipkin to know. While they are on, they go with each message and are handled exactly like the message: checked, used for that reply, and not stored or logged by our service. They are saved on your phone, where you can change or delete them.
  • Talking freely conversations on your phone. What you typed and what the AI wrote back are saved on your phone so you can scroll back. They stay on the phone; we cannot see them.
  • Reported replies. If you report a reply and confirm, we receive that reply, your message before it, the reason you picked, which model wrote it and the version of the consent you agreed to, with nothing that identifies you. We delete it after 90 days.
  • Reflection text, as it passes through our service. While reflections are on, each journal page you keep, and up to six support areas, are sent to our service, which returns one short reflection. Our service is designed not to store or log the page or the reflection.

An AI safety check reads each Talking freely message to decide whether to show you ways to reach people. That decision is used in the moment and not stored. We keep only a daily count of how many times help was shown, with no account, device, address or words attached, so it cannot be linked to you.

We do not receive your check-ins, mood, worry box, journal pages you kept while reflections were off, Apple Health data or location. Those stay on your phone.

Why we collect it

  • To write the reply or reflection you asked for.
  • To check what you write for signs of danger, and to show you ways to reach people instead of a reply when there are.
  • For a reply you report: so a person can review it, and so we can improve our filters.

We do not use it for advertising, to build a profile of you, or to train AI models, and neither do the services below.

Where it comes from

Only from you: what you type, and the choices you make in the app. We do not buy consumer health data or collect it from anyone else.

Who we share it with

Only with the service providers that process it for us, to do the work above, and under their own terms:

  • Google Cloud — runs our service, and stores reported replies until they are deleted.
  • OpenRouter, Inc. — passes each message or journal page to the AI model.
  • Amazon Web Services (Amazon Bedrock) or Google Cloud (Vertex AI) — run Anthropic’s Claude models, which write the replies and reflections and do the safety check. We ask OpenRouter to send your words only to hosts it lists as keeping no copy of them.

We do not share it with anyone else, except where the law requires us to.

We do not sell it

We do not sell consumer health data, and we do not use it for advertising.

Your consent

Talking freely has its own consent, separate from everything else in the app. It is off until you turn it on. Before you do, the screen tells you that what you write may be consumer health data, what is collected, why, and who it is shared with, and asks for your consent both to collect it and to share it for that purpose. Reflections have their own separate switch, also off until you turn it on.

You can withdraw either consent at any time in Settings. It takes effect straight away: nothing more is sent from that moment.

Your rights

  • To know and to see it. Your Talking freely conversations are on your phone: you can read them in the app and export them with the rest of your data. Our service keeps no copy of your messages or reflections. You can ask us to confirm what we hold, and this page lists everyone we share it with.
  • To delete it. In the app you can delete one conversation, all of them, or everything, straight away. Nothing is held on our service to delete. A reported reply carries nothing that identifies you, so we cannot look it up by person; if you tell us its words, we will find it and delete it. Otherwise it is deleted after 90 days.
  • To withdraw consent. Turn Talking freely or reflections off in Settings.

You do not need an account for any of this. To ask us anything, or to use a right the app cannot do for you, email support@mipkin.app. We will answer within the period your state’s law requires. If we turn a request down, we will say why, and you can appeal by replying to that answer. If you are still unhappy, you can contact your state’s attorney general.

No geofencing

We do not set up virtual boundaries around places that provide health care, and the app does not collect your location at all.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page before the change applies, and ask for your consent again where the law requires it. The date at the top is the record of when it last changed.
